Fees and Charges

Individual Therapy Fee Schedule

A referral is not required to access this service. If you would like to see a psychologist as a private client, that is without a referral, you need not worry about any paperwork at all. In some cases you may be able to claim a rebate from private health insurance.  Fees are payable at the end of your consultation via direct debit. We can then claim your Medicare rebate for you, as a courtesy, so you don’t have to.  [Private health funds - To claim from your private health fund simply submit your paid invoice to your fund.]  Psychological Services are also claimable with most private health funds.

Medicare Rebates

You may be eligible to claim a proportion of the fees from Medicare (up to 10 sessions). To do this, you need to make an appointment with your GP, who will complete an assessment as to whether you are suffering from a condition that is eligible for rebate by Medicare and provide you with a Mental Health Plan. You can then contact the psychologist directly with the referral and Mental Health Plan to discuss and make an appointment. Child and adolescent referrals can also be made by a pediatrician and/or a psychiatrist. Your psychologist will need to include details from this referral in your invoice for Medicare, so it is important to bring this documentation with you on your first visit.   This year the rebate per session has been set by Medicare at:

$96.65

  • Registered Psychologist

$141.85

  • Clinical Psychologist

NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding to support eligible people who have a disability. Whilst we are not a NDIS registered provider, we are NDIS friendly. This means we can see NDIS Self-Managed and Plan-Managed participants.

Assessments

The fees for these depend on the complexity of what is required. Assessments range in price starting from $1200 for Cognitive assessments to $3,200 for comprehensive ASD diagnostic testing. You can also do a combination of these. We are usually able to give you a more accurate quote once we know more about why the assessment is needed. Medicare does not provide rebates for assessments unless they are an integral part of the therapy process. Most private health funds provide some rebates for psychological assessments. Please check with your fund. In clinic payment plans can be arranged.

Cancellations and Repeated No Shows

If you need to cancel an appointment, we ask that you do so more than 24 hours before the appointment so that we can notify your health professional and to offer the vacated appointment slot to individuals on our wait list. If you do cancel the appointment less than 24 hours prior to the nominated time, we will charge you the full rate for the service you have missed. You will be provided a text confirmation 48 hours prior to your appointment. Please ensure you contact the relevant centre if you wish to cancel or rebook your session. A text response to the message sent will not be accepted as notification of cancellation. We understand that at times life can be extremely challenging, and attending regular scheduled appointments might become difficult for you. Should you find you need to repeatedly cancel sessions, or do not attend your scheduled session without notice on multiple occasions, your health professional may terminate sessions with you until such a time that your life circumstances affords you the capacity to commit to regular treatment sessions.
